Approximately 8–46% of children 1- 4 experience being bullied in primary school. Adverse effects of peer victimisation on psychological maladjustment such as anxiety, depressive feelings, low self esteem, or loneliness have been found in studies of predominantly secondary school children.5-7 In contrast, there is a dearth of research on the relation of bullying experiences and common health complaints8 and school absenteeism.
Children have the right to learn and develop in safe and healthy environments. Protecting children from bullying and working to prevent it in schools and other settings is part of creating safe environments that help children grow and thrive.
Dear readers, what is your take on on incident of bullying in Primary and secondary level and what are your advise to children facing such situation.
How best can we protect children from being bullied, or what can we do to end this bullying
ReplyDeleteThis is so true and sometimes jealousy among peers lead to this bullying in schools
ReplyDeleteWell it only depends on the parents, how they treat and best know their children attitude in every, parents MUST always ask their children how they spend their school hours, by doing that children getting bullied will be saved.
ReplyDeleteNo child has a right to bull the kthers therefore they should have a proper education starting from their families because charity begins at home!
ReplyDeleteBullying itself is wrong either at school or else where so children who face this kinda situation should not hesitate to tell on people who are doing such a deed
ReplyDeleteChildren have the right to freedom, but those that bully others have inherited bad manners from their mothers being abused by their fathers or vice versa. Bullying must stop!
ReplyDeleteIt's sad because a lot of these kids grow up depressed as hell...school is one place I enjoyed being at while growing up, I pity them honestly. It's as if these schools could have a law that bann bullies for 2 whole years and have no access to any school until this years end.
ReplyDeleteThis is literally what most of us had to grow up fighting for,,, a whole limitation of being bullied.
ReplyDeleteBullying does a huge impact on kids life. It causes alot of depression and going to school doesn't seem interesting anymore. I believe most of us did or somehow did experience bullying in any way. With that i would really recommend that parents try to be more kind and to reform love among kids
ReplyDeleteChildren deserve to study in a healthy environment so it is wise for teachers and officers of the law to visit schools regularly and talk to students
ReplyDeleteMy take is that children must tell their parents about the abuse at school. So that parents can take action towards that
ReplyDeleteReport those bullies!!!!! And for everyone who's being bullied, I suggest they report to their parents and I think it's best for parents to take this issue seriously instead of telling their children that they are weak and all.
ReplyDeleteBullying in all sorts should not be tolerated at all. Not only is it instilling a lot of mental issues that could have been avoided.
ReplyDeleteWhat' can be done to stop bullying in primary and secondary schools?
ReplyDeleteWhat is this right you are saying children have?
ReplyDeleteAll I can say about this is, parents are the ones to blame for this bad behaviour because charity begins at home as such parents should revisit their parenting styles or methods
We all have right and responsibility and i believe that everything starts at home. It takes a village to raise a kid. Let's teach the the consequences of their actions because we will have troubled kid's tomorrow
ReplyDeleteBullying needs to stop, it affects children's behaviour so much. I should know, I was a victim myself
ReplyDeleteIt's so sad that children don't even talk about it maybe to their parents or guardians. They normally grow up with anger and depression. I so wish parents could open up to their children so that they can share with them things that are bothering them at school.
ReplyDeletePrimary bullying is very wrong. I'm one of the people who experienced Primary bullying. Whenever I had to go to school I'd think of my other mother from school. I did not enjoy my food or money. No child is supposed to experience that. It children emotionally and accidentally
ReplyDeleteWell it all begins is every single house that kids should be taught to report any form of abuse
ReplyDeleteIt goes without saying that we need to be the change we want to see. The most unfortunate part of bullying is that some kids commit suicide to escape it. The bullies need to be reported but not only that, they also need help because in most cases for one to bully others is a cry for intervention or help. To overcome bullying, we need to address the source not the outcome 🙏.
