Most of you will have experienced, or will experience peer pressure at some point in your life, but it is most ordinarily found in teenagers. This is because they are going through lots of changes, alongside schoolwork, exams, and the usual trials and tribulations involved with being a teenager. They also now have social media to contend with too. Peer pressure is when you are pressured into doing something by your friends that you would probably not have done otherwise. For example, it could be that someone started vaping because their friends were doing it. Or even just going to a party you didn’t want to go to. Either way, it’s a very common situation and it is good to learn about it and how to cope.
Dear readers, can you please give ways in which teenagers can survive peer pressure especially when at school
It is very important to remember their family background and their future plans, that's the only thing one way to survive peer pressure.
ReplyDeletePeer pressure can be a challenging experience for students, but there are ways to survive it. First and foremost, it's important to know and understand your own values and beliefs. This will help you resist the temptation to conform to the expectations of your peers. It's also helpful to surround yourself with friends who share similar values and interests, as they can provide support and encouragement. Additionally, practicing assertiveness and saying "no" when necessary can help you stand up for yourself and make your own decisions. Finally, seeking out positive role models, such as teachers or mentors, can provide guidance and support when facing difficult situations. Remember that it's okay to be different and make your own choices, and ultimately, staying true to yourself is the key to surviving peer pressure.

ReplyDeleteFear of being alone. That's what causes peer pressure, we are so afraid of being alone to an extent that we do things we don't even like or can't afford just to fit in. So to all teens out there, my advice is, Do NOT BE AFRAID of having one one.
ReplyDeleteProfound. It is this Peer pressure that has cost many young girls to experience early unplanned motherhood.
ReplyDeletePeer pressure can be a very dangerous face a teenager could face especially the one who lacks back bone. It could lead one into a life time regretting decision.
ReplyDeleteBefore most, it is quite important that you remember where you come from, Thata will help you choose friends of your level,, Youth tend to get it all mixed up by demanding friendships from those who are not of their level when results most in peer pressure to attain certain things
ReplyDeleteAs far as I am concerned, I will keep on saying it's all in parent's hands as the victoa and victimisers experience this from within their homesteads
ReplyDeleteThe desire to fit in can lead anyone to be pressured in doing something they wouldn't normally do. For one to survive peer pressure, it begins with how their families have groomed them. We need present parents, not just financially and physically but also emotionally present. A present parent is able to detect changes in their kids and immediately track them back to the right path. Teenagers ought to be courageous and be able to stand their ground and not easily swayed if they believe what they stand for is right for them. But like any other cross cutting issues, to overcome this issue we need to tackle the source.
ReplyDeleteAvoid pleasing friends at all costs, trying to fit in will cost you one day. Being true to yourself will get you far. It's all fun when doing things yes but sometimes they could lend one in serious trouble
ReplyDeleteI believe being truthful to yourself and not trying to please anyone just to be accepted. Remember that you cannot come this far to be a child to another child by allowing things you don't like be down by you cause you don't want to be lonely
